The listed timber-framed cottage was built in 1590 and completely modernised and converted in 1978. Over the last years further conversions and renovations were carried out, e.g. a new lounge with balcony was built, the roof frame construction was mostly renewed and newly slated, the facade painted and renovated and in 1998 the bathroom modernised and in 2016 a new fitted kitchen was built in. The cottage is ideal as a holiday or second home for everyone, who loves historic buildings, and in summer you can spend your time on the sunny balcony or in the sheltered courtyard, relaxing, having barbecues, or enjoying a nice glass of Mosel wine with friends.
The location in the historic village centre of Sankt Aldegund is quiet and outside the flood zone. From the sunny balcony you can see over the village to the other side of the Mosel. It is only a few steps to the Mosel promenade and into the vineyards. St. Aldegund is very attractive with beautifully restored timber-framed houses and cobbled streets in the old part. Every day supplies can be bought locally, and there are numerous restaurants and wine bars. In the nearby town of Zell - one of the most beautiful towns in the Mosel valley - you can find an excellent infrastructure with shopping centres, doctors, hospital, schools, swimming pool, various sports facilities and tourist attractions. The area is ideal as a base for trips to the sights of the Mosel valley and for cycle and walking tours to the surrounding hills and valleys. The vicinity of Frankfurt-Hahn airport and an excellent road network guarantee easy access from and to all parts of Europe.
